State Route 11 is a state highway in Maine. It is a long continuation of New Hampshire Route 11 at its south end in Lebanon, which itself is a continuation of Vermont Route 11. (Overall, Route 11 in Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont are long.) Route 11 in Maine travels through the counties of York, Cumberland, Androscoggin, Kennebec, Somerset, Waldo, Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Aroostook. The road ends at U.S. 1 in Fort Kent, near its northern terminus at the Canadian border. At just over , Route 11 is, by far, the longest state highway in Maine, and the second longest numbered highway in the entire state (far behind U.S. Route 1, which runs just over in Maine). It is almost longer than Maine's longest Interstate Highway, its section of I-95. ==History==
